At the 2024 Beijing Auto Show, the U7 was officially unveiled. The car is positioned as a million-level new energy flagship sedan and is equipped with black technologies such as Easy Sifang and "Eye of God" high-end intelligent driving assistance systems.
Looking up, the length, width and height of U7 are 5265/1998/1517mm respectively, and the wheelbase is 3160mm. Like the U9, the U7 uses the highly recognizable family design language - Gate of Time and Space. From the side, the lines of the roof, front and rear wheels and the design inspiration "energy crystal" are in the same origin, creating an elegant New proportions and new stance. The A-pillar of the vehicle is placed forward, thereby increasing the ratio of the cockpit to the length of the vehicle. Compared with traditional executive sedans, the U7 presents a different new form and proportion of an executive sedan.
In order to achieve the world"s highest wind resistance coefficient for mass-produced cars, a large number of optimized designs have been carried out in details, such as the AGS active air intake grille, the raised hood end, A-pillar profile optimization, low wind resistance semi-enclosed wheels, Hidden door handles, double-layer bottom diffuser, etc. have been tested in a real car wind tunnel and the wind resistance coefficient of the vehicle at a speed of 120km/h is only 0.195Cd, which is one of the best among mass-produced cars in the world.
The U7 comes standard with BYD"s self-developed and produced carbon ceramic brake discs, which, combined with Yi Sifang's rapid electric braking capabilities, enable a braking distance of less than 33 meters from 100-0km/h.
Easy Sifang’s four-wheel independent torque vectoring control is the core technology of U7. Relying on Easifang’s ultimate performance, the maximum power of a single motor is 240kW, the maximum power of the vehicle is over 1300 horsepower, the peak torque of the four motors is about 1584N·m, and the peak speed is At 21,000rpm, the maximum efficiency of the assembly is 94.5%, and the fastest acceleration from 0-100km/h is 2.9 seconds.
At the same time, Yi Sifang's distributed drive also allows the U7 to control the torque of each wheel end in real time, allowing for more precise control in different scenarios. For example, when driving at high speed, when the main road enters the highway ramp, or when the road surface is slippery, Yi Sifang can quickly stabilize the body posture by controlling the torque of each wheel end in real time. The torque adjustment of each wheel end can be positive or negative.
For another example, in extreme performance scenarios such as snow, Yi Sifang"s four wheels independently and instantaneously adjust wheel end torque and horsepower output to overcome changes in the adhesion coefficient on ice and snow slopes. Of course, functions such as in-situ U-turn, easy four-way parking, and lateral movement are also available on the U7. It can realize in-situ U-turn on high, medium, and low-adhesion roads, and can be used in practical scenarios such as parking, exiting the warehouse, and narrow road U-turns.
The U7 comes standard with two NVIDIA Orin-X smart driving chips, with a total computing power of 508TOPS. It is equipped with 3 ultra-long-range lidars, 5 millimeter-wave radars, 13 high-definition cameras and 12 ultrasonic radars, which can achieve L2+ high-level intelligent driving assistance capabilities.
