Question: Mercedes-Benz claims that the VISION EQXX concept car is a model driven by software development. It also uses a unique UI design through human brain bionic technology. This development process has great impact on Mercedes-Benz. How will the new-generation models and mid-size models built on the MMA platform be helpful to Saders-Benz in the future?
Xue Fuming: First of all, the UI/UX interaction system on the VISION EQXX concept car is an early version of the future MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system, which will be launched around 2024 and 2025 for the next generation of medium-sized and new-generation electric vehicles. Secondly, our idea is to elevate the UI experience to a new level of human-computer interaction interface, an important component of which is the future new generation of MBUX intelligent human-computer interaction system. In the VISION EQXX concept car, we use an integrated display with a resolution of up to 8K, which can accurately predict and provide the information the owner needs at a specific moment, such as time Display, GPS positioning, driving status, etc., as well as timely push of food ordering, shopping and in-car system functions. All this is achieved by relying on background computing and perception functions, and is displayed through such a large display. This extra-large display is also one of the largest in-car displays in the industry.
Question: Can the power provided by the roof solar panel directly drive the vehicle? Where is the lightweight lithium iron phosphate battery placed in the vehicle, and how is the conversion between the high-voltage power of the ternary lithium battery achieved?
Xue Fuming: First of all, the VISION EQXX concept car is an electric model built for the future, so we are also exploring many aspects in terms of roof design. possibilities, and roof solar panels are one of them. In the future, we will also develop other innovative roof system designs.
Secondly, this area isLightweight lithium iron phosphate batteries, which have not yet entered mass production for solar panel applications, are placed at the front of the vehicle. The VISION EQXX concept car has two battery systems, one is a high-voltage battery system dedicated to driving the vehicle, and the other is a 12V low-voltage battery system supported by solar energy.
At present, the electrical energy converted by solar panels is stored in lithium iron phosphate batteries, which are specially used for low-voltage battery systems. In the future, high-voltage main battery systems can also be stored directly through transformers. Based on this, we already have a patented technology that will allow the electricity generated by solar energy to play a direct role in improving cruising range.
