Recently, we learned from relevant channels that due to stricter emission regulations, the Aston Martin V12 engine may be retired after 2026. It is reported that the V12 Vantage will be the last Aston Martin model equipped with a V12 engine

As one of the few brands that will continue to use V12 engines, Aston ·Martin plans to retain its 12-cylinder engine for as long as possible. However, in a recent interview with reporters, Aston Martin CEO Tobias Moers said that the future is no longer clear.

"It depends on the regulations," he said. "We can no longer develop a new V12 engine, so we can only improve the existing engine, but if it is in 2026 or 2027, this may not be able to continue."

The regulation he mentioned is the upcoming Euro 7 emissions standard, which is expected to take effect in 2025. The strict requirements essentially preclude any high-output naturally aspirated V12 engines from production use. Moers explained that the life cycle of many V12 car manufacturers ends around 2024 or 2025, in line with the Euro 7 timeline. Aston Martin may live on with its projects a little longer, but that's about it.

Moers said: "The V12 has passionate fans, but future V12s will have a different lineup. Will it still exist after 2026? I don't know, I'm not sure .With the introduction of Euro 7 emission standards , the V12 has also come to an end. We may improve it with electrification." Of course, the crazy Ares has a 6.5-liter V12 engine from Cosworth, and there is also an upcoming V12. Vantage, this will be Aston Martin's "last V12".
